Half-Day Canyoneering Adventure near Zion National Park, Utah

Our half day canyoneering adventure will take you to Zion, the mecca of canyoneering. During the course you’ll experience a 10-25 minute hike, you’ll down-climb narrow, twisted, super-tight slots, you’ll take part in up to 3 rappels (20 to 50 feet in length) and, depending on conditions, you’ll wade in canyon pools.

The adventure is designed for individuals and small groups who are looking for a fun and adventurous introduction to technical canyoneering. You will learn and apply:

Knots, ropes & anchors

Belay & safety systems

Rappelling

Canyoneering basics

"Leave No Trace" practices

We provide all the necessary technical gear for your experience, but recommend you bring:

1 quart of water per person + lunch/snacks for the day

Sunscreen

Good tennis or hiking shoes

Warm, synthetic clothes (any time of year)

Camera

All trips leave from Zion Adventure Company at 36 Lion Blvd., across from the Quality Inn.

Early reservations advised - dates tend to book 30 to 45 days out. Trips take place 7 days a week, year-round. Departing at 7:30 am, the trip lasts 4 to 5 hours

We came to Zion on Valentine's Day, 1996, with no intentions. But Zion's vertical sandstone world, with miles of serpentine slot canyons and immense quietude inspired us to build our organization and change the way people visit Zion National Park. We broke ground as the first outfitter and educational guide service of Zion Canyon, and established the base for canyoneering, rock climbing, and hiking the Zion Narrows.
