Manatee Kayak Tour

The Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge in Florida is home to upwards of 700 Florida manatees who overwinter in the crystal clear springs. Aardvark's Florida Kayak Co., Inc. provides ecotours focused on passive observation of these endangered giants. Beginner friendly. Guides are Master Naturalists and Certified EcoHeritage Guides. Aardvark's owner and lead guide is a marine biologist and a former manatee researcher.

Our tours come from a somewhat different perspective in that the trip leader has actual research experience with manatees and 15 years field experience in wildlife management and biology in the area where we will be paddling. As a preserve manager, Matt has a true understanding of eco -tourism. Susan (Mrs Aardvark) has spent 30 years as a Florida Park Ranger and in addition to being a professional paddler, has extensive experience in interpretation of Florida's Ecology and Heritage.
