Taste of Zeppelin Flight-seeing Tour

From our historic headquarters at Moffett Field, our tours start with an effortless and rapid ascent from the airfield up over NASA Ames. Below you is the iconic structure of Hangar One and the green roofed Hangars Two and Three – among the largest wooden structures in the world. Stretching out to the freeway are the giant sheds and ducts that form the NASA Ames wind tunnels where all manner of spacecraft and aircraft have been tested. Sometimes your companions on the runway at NASA will include the jets that the astronauts use to visit for training or even the road tests for local electric vehicle manufacturers!

Airship Ventures brought a Zeppelin NT airship to California for daily sight seeing flights, advertising operations, corporate and event occasions and scientific missions. We started operations from Moffett Field, North Oakland, Monterey and Long Beach airports in November 2008.

“Eureka” means “I’ve found it” and from the reactions of our guests, that would seem to be the sentiment that captures the unique experience of flying on the Zeppelin “Eureka”. Others have described it as a ‘personal cloud’ or ‘knowing what birds feel like’.

For some, its much quieter than they were expecting, a smoother ride, more comfortable. For everyone, it’s over far too quickly!

Cruising at around 1300 feet, you are high enough to be non intrusive, but low enough to see amazing details. Your speed is around 35mph, which is a stately and serene speed to view the world at. Take off and landing are very rapid and you are only in your seat for the minute or so it takes us to reach cruising altitude.

Surrounded by huge windows, two of which open, and with the comforts of leather seating and an onboard restroom, this is a real skybox!
