To The Bean and Beyond: A Photo Safari in Chicago

Chicago Photo Safaris is pleased to introduce you to its signature offering: a workshop in travel photography, conducted several times every week, that begins at Millennium Park's famous, shiny, metallic Bean sculpture. Working in the shadow of the Bean, professional photographer Gary Gullett will first give you a 40-minute orientation on good photography technique: how to photograph sculpture, monuments, historic places, how to photograph people you know and people you don't know; cityscapes, churches, and how to make your building photographs architecturally correct. He will also help you understand your camera and explain what all those features on your camera do, especially the ones controlling F-stops, shutter speeds, white balance, and ISO.

Then Gary will take you to the streets adjoining Millenium Park to photograph some of Chicago’s beautiful downtown architecture and the famous elevated train, visiting many of the iconic sites in the Windy City. At each point along the way Gary will critique your photos as you are taking them, helping you to correct exposure, composition and white balance right on the spot, so that you can immediately see the effect of your own corrective measures. This hands-on training will give you invaluable photo techniques for your future travels. So, before you go on that big trip come see us first! Got a new camera and don't know how to use it? Help is on the way through our Chicago Photo Safari!

Three-hour safari only $79, meets several times weekly rain or shine. Bring your camera, all its lenses, no tripod. All skill levels invited, with any kind of camera, point and shoot or SLR.
