Henna Workshop at the Environmental Nature Center

Eastern Art is rapidly influencing the West. What was

once a wedding tradition associated with the

application of henna is becoming an everyday treat in

America due to its health benefits and temporary

attributes. Henna is a temporary dye made from

Lawsonia Alba, a plant grown along the

Mediterranean. Workshop Participants will learn the

history of henna, symbolism attached to the design,

along with a solid foundation for creating designs and

applying the paste. Participants will not only leave the

course with their own henna cone and henna tattoo but

will also take home their very own design book built on

symmetry, intricacy and simplicity, composition, and

balance: the fundamental elements of design. This

course is intended for all drawing levels. Enjoy

authentic Turkish coffee and baklava while you learn!

Interested in having a Henna Workshop as part of a conference, team building, school program, or just for fun?

The Workshop is set up in two different ways:

Booth Style: (Good for Fairs and walk-by traffic)

Students from all ages to all art levels can learn how to do Henna in a simple ten minute tutorial. Students get a sheet with the basics of Henna and have an area to practice in, and then get the chance of practicing on other students in the workshop.

Seats 5 people at a time with a ten-minute seating time

Presentation Style: (Good for Team Building Workshops and School Presentations)

Participants start off with a 5 minute Powerpoint presentation and then delve into the art of design, how to hold the cone, the do's and don'ts of henna, and then practice their designs on themselves or a partner. Each student gets their own workbook and design book.

45 minutes to 1 hr and half

This education and skill enhancing workshop is a boost in self-confidence and artistic abilities! Bring the Henna Workshop to your school, business, or Organization. Only natural Henna is used and all Henna is non-toxic.

Sama Wareh has been doing henna for over 12 years. She has been featured on the Hallmark Channel as a professional Henna Artist, and has done over 1000 original designs. She never uses a stencil and creates new designs on the spot depending on the vibe that emanates from the person.
