Wild about Food Foraging day course - Swinton Park

Join Chris Bax (as seen in BBC's Countryfile), who has combined his love of the great outdoors and natural food with his skills as a chef, to create a day course that will inspire you to take wild food seriously as a staple ingredient of your diet.

Join him on a ramble in the parkland and surrounding countryside, learning about the shoots, roots, berries and leaves that are safe to eat, nutritious and, above all, tasty. You will spend about three hours walking with him as he shows you where to look and how to harvest the wild food growing in abundance on the estate.

This will culminate in a meal cooked for you at the cookery school around the demonstration table, where you will see the ingredients you have harvested being prepared by our cookery school chef.

Robust outdoor clothing and footwear essential, and please bear in mind that the first three hours of the course is spent outside walking in the parkland which is uneven terrain, and at times heavy going.

ACCOMMODATION PACKAGE

For those attending a course (other than a Residential Course where accommodation is already included), there are the following rates available where accommodation is booked in conjunction with a cookery school course.

One night's accommodation, dinner and breakfast with Day Course and lunch in the cookery school : £300 (single occupancy). Non-cooking partners are welcome on this package, for an additional charge of £70 (for dinner, bed and breakfast in the hotel) or £100 (which also includes lunch in the cookery school). If two guests sharing a room are both attending a course, then the one night package price is £510 for the room (full board and including the course charge and lunch in the cookery school). Please note that one night bookings for Saturday nights are not always available.

Two night's accommodation, dinner and breakfast for one on both nights with day course and lunch for one in the cookery school : £460 (single occupancy). Non-cooking partners are welcome on this package, for an additional charge of £140 (for dinner, bed and breakfast in the hotel) or £170 (which also includes lunch in the cookery school). If two guests sharing a room are both attending a course, then the two night package price is £740 for the room (full board and including the course charge and lunch in the cookery school
