Wild food and foraging day
Do you want to learn how to forage for free and wild food? Then join these wild food experts and authors for this one day forage
Encouraging questions and group participation, we hope that you will get as much from the foraging experience as we put in. And we won’t just be covering foods that are around at the time of the course, we will also point out plenty of plants to help you identify your dinner throughout the year.
Whilst we teach very practical knowledge on our forages we do this with a relaxed atmosphere ensuring that you learn and have a good day out too.
What to wear and what to expect:
Starting at 10am and finishing at 4pm, the forage consists of a circular walk taking in an urban setting, two farms, a meadow and, if time permits, a woodland and lakeside. Please bring waterproofs, walking boots and a notepad and pen. It has also become an unwritten (until now) tradition to share lunches so please bring some food to share.
Please tell us if you are pregnant or have any health issues. If you would like to sample some of the herbal infusions that we will forage, then bring a thermos flask of hot water.
Directions:
We meet at St Werburghs Farm Cafe in Bristol and finish at Mina Arms public house, just down the road from the City farm. The nearest train stations are Montpellier or Stapleton Road Station. The nearest bus stop is the number 25.
