Machines are great but can’t do everything we might need to make

and sometimes its just ‘more rewarding and plain nicer’ to make bread the traditional way…by hand.

Starting at 10am with fresh coffee and home made biscuits Gillian will guide you gently though the basics of hand bread making - unravel the mysteries of yeast and different gluten levels in various flours and then, coffee drunk and pinny on you will have the opportunity to try many many recipes of different breads using a conventional fan oven or Aga in which to bake them.

Gillian is one of the county most knowledgeable bakers and runs all our baking workshops here at the Cycle Cafe - see her Christmas Breads class on youtube....

We re not going to cancel it so the the remaining spaces are offered at a discount, on what was already an incredibly good value 16 hr course. Hosted in the north Lakes by the Cycle Cafe this is a great venue with fantastic food included in the day We have been running HSE Approved First Aid courses in Greystoke for several years and have developed a formula of combining stimulating teaching days (ITC method *) with a lovely venue and delicious home made food and refreshments included. Not a village hall in sight . This seems to make these necessarily serious courses into as enjoyable an experience as possible for those needing to attend.
