Kendal School of Upholstery - weekend courses
Small group tuition with an experienced craftsman in the Cumbrian Lake District
These weekends are designed as a taster for those of you with little or no experience or for those of you who have experience but little time. Projects undertaken will depend on you but we recommend the following items of furniture:
A Dining Chair
A Footstool
A Piano Stool
The 2.5 day course begins with an evening session on Friday from 6.30 pm – 9.30 pm and follows with weekend days of 9.30 am – 4.30 pm. Cost £180 plus materials and there are plenty of local accommodation options available.Qualifications
Kendal Upholstery was established in 2000 when Stuart Bottomley made the shift from Macmillan nursing into full time upholstery. As well as completing upholstery commissions - antique and modern - for clients, Stuart and his partner, Rachel, run a programme of courses based at their workshop at Bonningate. They are also involved in the Unfold Collective of Cumbrian designers and makers, creating and selling modern furnishings and fabrics online and through their shop in the centre of Kendal.
