Learn to screen print a handmade book

Explore storytelling, illustration and bookmaking in this fantastic one day workshop. Beginning with observational drawing, you’ll create beautiful imagery around your chosen theme, before introducing printing and bookmaking techniques to create a fantastical flexifold or concertina book structure. Fun to make, these little books can be great gifts, and offer an amazing opportunity to be as creative with content as you like!

You teacher will be Helen Bridges and the class starts at 12pm and finished at 5pm.

The Papered Parlour is a new independent craft venue in London - tucked down an alley in Clapham and decked out as a parlour - where classes are all about giving you the tools to take creativity into your own hands.

Completely passionate about all forms of contemporary art and design, our classes are project based and focus on teaching you the key creative skills that will allow you to develop cutting edge design. With a nod towards the ‘make do and mend’ approach of the 40’s, we make use of recycled materials wherever possible, spreading the sustainability message gently.

Inhabited by artists, designers, musicians and theatre practitioners, we also have an onsite artist’s studio and a beautiful gallery space available for parties and hires.

Set up in 2009 by two young visual artists, our varied programme of events reflects our desire to create incredibly engaging arts events that you can get involved in.
