An introduction to compositional screen print design.

Suitable for beginners/intermediate /experienced. During this one day course you will be introduced to screen printing and textile design techniques and you will create your own compositional print designs onto wallpapers, fabrics and small items such as napkins and tea towels. All materials are provided but you are welcome to bring any small items/fabric or paper to print onto.

Creating Repeat Textile Designs

Sept 4th & 30th Oct

An Introduction to Textile Design.

Suitable for intermediate /experienced. This course has a technical focus that will explore methods and techniques to create a repeat textile design. Designs for furnishing/fashion fabric and wallpaper will be introduced and you will learn about repeat sizes, colour separation and the use of colour. You will create your own repeat design with one colour separation, ready for the screen print process. All materials and template designs will be provided but you can also bring along your own designs/artwork.

Design your own Wall Sticker

18th Sept & 29th Oct

An introduction to wall sticker design.

Suitable for beginners/intermediate /experienced

During the day you will create your own wall stickers to install in your home. Stickers can be applied to painted walls, furniture and glass. During the day you will work with hand cutting and computer cutting equipment. All materials and design templates will be provided.

Beginners Decorative Paper Cutting

14th Aug & 11th Sept

Suitable for beginners/intermediate /experienced

Paper Cuts are a gaining popularity as a contemporary home decoration. During this one day course you will create your own hand paper cut from templates provided. At the end of the day you will be able to frame your paper cut on a card mount to take home and display. All materials will be provided.

Refreshments are provided on all courses but please bring a packed lunch.

Rachel Kelly- Award winning wallpaper desginer is running a series of workshops for those interested in range of design and print techniques. The workshops are held at Rachel's Lake District studio close to Kendal. Rachel has a wide range of teaching and practical experience and has taught courses at Central St Martins College of Art, London and at Leeds College of Art.
