Outdoors Mosaic

Learn the special requirements that make your mosaic frost-proof, essential for our wet and chilly winters. This mosaic workshop uses such diverse materials as slate, ceramic plant pots, moulded concrete and found materials (mannequin legs in Katy's Garden.) to create unique garden ornaments. Broken toast racks and plumbers U-bends have been known to be used in Jan's outdoor mosaic classes in the past. The course will cover the basics of mosaic technique, the cutting and nipping of tiles and glass or mirror; the adhesion of the pieces and the grouting of the finished item.

Garden Art can include bird baths, stepping stones, table tops, wall slates, decorative planters, or just useless pieces to incorporate into a flower bed!

£215 per person, sharing a twin-bedded or double room

Prices include B&B accommodation on Friday night and Saturday night, a welcoming glass of wine on the Friday evening at Galvelmore House, light lunch on Saturday and Sunday, tuition by Jan Kilpatrick of Wild Tiles and all materials.

Katy Galbraith is the owner of Galvelmore House B&B which has its own individual style, with many unique pieces of art (including mosaics) on the walls and in the garden. She is a keen mosaic artist in her own right, and whilst not the tutor for the mosaic classes, is also on hand to assist. Also a great baker - and cakes abound during the tea/coffee breaks!

Located in the centre of Crieff, the B&B is well positioned for the various classes on offer. The indoor mosaic classes take place in a nearby studio, run by an artist friend.

The B&B offers accommodation for the participants or is happy to welcome partners who chose not to partake in the class,
