7 night yoga retreat and holiday – Thailand
7 nights/ 8 days to rejuvenate your body and unburden your mind with a wonderful yoga holiday in a secluded island eco resort surrounded by pristine jungle and turquoise sea views off southern Thailand's Andaman Sea coast.
• Twice daily yoga
• Accommodation
• 3 meals per day
• Island transfers
• 1 Snorkel tour
Practice yoga on the dedicated sala set directly on the edge of the beach. Relax and renew yourself as you listen to the waves, feel the ocean breeze and watch the sunset over the Andaman Sea.
Gina teaches classical hatha yoga flow which embraces the precision of Iyengar, the style of Sivananda, and the flow of Ashtanga with a focus on safety and alignment.
Benefits of yoga include weight loss, improved flexibility, muscle tone, relief from stress, enhanced creativity, lymphatic cleansing and liver detoxification. We will work on strengthening the immune system, nervous system and glandular system
The on-site restaurant features fresh and healthy Thai classics and fusion cuisine as well as a selection of Western dishes. Meals are eaten together in family style with everyone convening at the main sala after sunset where the chef has prepared a feast of dishes. You can also have the choice of ordering off the menu.
The bungalows are constructed with natural materials to produce a simple and comfortable space for guests to enjoy the tranquility of the area. Each room has a private bath with western toilet and shower. Rooms have either a large Queen size bed or two single beds. A large covered patio is shared for each house of two or three rooms. We also have several suite rooms for families or those requiring more space. Each suite consists of a bedroom and adjoining sitting room, extra mattresses may be added for families with children.
Koh Ra Ecolodge is easily accessible from either Phuket from the south or Ranong from the north. Make your way by bus or taxi to Kuraburi pier, about 10 km north of Kuraburi town. Where we will pick you up in our boat and take you on a 20minute ride out to our island retreat.
The Koh Ra Ecolodge features a secluded island beach, pristine jungle, and a "green" accommodation alternative where you will find bungalows constructed with local materials, a solar array, an organic garden, waste separation, gray water recycling and locally-produced foods
The island is a proposed National Park and is one of the gems of this coastline, which is Thailand's largest stretch of intact coastal jungle. There are about seven other National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in the area. As of yet, Koh Ra has almost zero development except for a few scattered houses and one remote resort tucked into the jungle on a private bay and beach (that's us).

Qualifications
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Gina has travelled the world, including India, Thailand, Nepal and the U.K. to train and practice her love for yoga.
Gina initially discovered the therapeutic benefits of yoga when it helped her overcome Rheumatoid Arthritis of the lower back. Gina believes yoga is beneficial to everyone, of all ages and abilities.
Gina’s enthusiasm and warmth, motivates and encourages her students to make personal choices in their yoga practice and develop skills to help them become attuned to their bodies. Gina’s inspiration as a yoga teacher is to lead her students to discover new physical awareness by focussing on the integration of breath with movement, to move beyond the mind and connect with their inner silence and to practice stillness in each asana (posture), creating a sense of peace and well-being.
Ecolodge:
The Koh Ra Ecolodge was started by Kim Obermeyer and Sirikanjana Chantakian (“Awe”) and a small group of dedicated Thai and Westerners who love nature, community, and support the vision of sustainability.
. Their mission is to offer a green alternative model to Thailand's mass-tourism beach resorts; provide a venue for sustainability and conservation projects and workshops; and work to benefit the local environment and communities in the area.
Kim started the Ecolodge after working in the Northern Andaman region for about six years doing coral reef conservation work with the non-profit Reef Check as the Country Coordinator and Lead Scientist. The Reef Check team based their field research at the closed “Koh Ra Nature Beach Resort” for two years before taking over the management to open up this sleepy but amazing place as the Koh Ra Ecolodge in 2008. With help from many people and drawing on connections with other local NGO's and communities, the Ecolodge was born.
