"Crystal days & Northern Light II" Dogsledding Adventure
Fabulous dogsledding and scenery, with the luxury and comfort of a traditional Swedish base camp
"Crystal days & Northern Light II" is similar to “Crystal days & Northern Light I”. This is a tour for you that like to have the comfort of a base camp. On this tour we make daytrips from our village Umnäs and you spend all the nights in a cosy and warm Swedish house that we warm up with wood. Its also electricity, water and shower in the house. In the evening you can take a sauna and a bath in the snow…
- On the daytrips you will see beautiful areas in our home mountains Gardmountain. December is a beautiful month with a lot of Northern Light and the special light a cold December day is something you have experience, we don’t have words for that.
- When you arrive in Lapland, Storuman or Hemavan airport, you will go by car the last 100 km to Umnäs. The first thing we will do in Umnäs is to go and say hello to the dogs. After that we will have dinner at host home or something lighter like sandwich. We also take a look on what gear and clothes you need to borrow from us. We talk about your days with the dogs and how to mush the sled.
- We harness the dogs in the dog yard; pack the sledges with lunch and the things you like to bring. Now we will have a lecture time in “how to drive” a team of dogs. After that it is time to pull the anchor, stand on the brake and GO FOR IT!
- Out on this daytrips you will start to feel comfortable on the sled and learn all the basic about dogs and dogsledding. We mush around 40-50 km/day and you will go through fairy tale forest, deep valleys, frozen lakes and high mountain plateaus.
- Breakfast in your house. Pack your bags and say goodbye to the dogs. We will eat lunch at our home, write the guest book and mark the maps over your days in the wilderness (if you like).
