Enviro Strategies in Food and Wine
Learn how to become more sustainable at home. Learn to turn your green waste into compost to help grow your own vegetables
At NZSFW we have designed a short course - 7 days - to look at New Zealand initiatives based in the Christchurch region. Over the seven days, we will discuss new thinking about enviro issues, take part in practical activities such as tree-planting, bird-watching, gardening and cooking. We will visit an organic farm, established on the land surrounding Christchurch's rubbish dump and located near the famous Waipara Wine Valley.
We want to introduce you to how to compost you own green waste at home which in turn can be used to grow your own vegetables in gardens or apartment planter-boxes. We will taste local wines and visit sustainable wineries and enjoy preparing our own feasts of local ingredients.
With over night stays in Waipara and Akaroa, the historic French settlement on Banks Peninsula, you will enjoy a unique travel experience.
