Two day beginners ice climbing course, Chamonix, France

The cold temperatures from December to February freeze the many waterfalls in the valley turning them into an ice climber’s paradise. These fantastic sculptures provide climbing for all standards. Constantly varying conditions change the nature of the climbs on a daily basis, supplying endless variety.

For those of you who would like to try this thrilling sport we have put together a two day beginners course below.

Duration: 2 Days

2009/2010 Dates: As required from mid Dec – end Feb

Group Size: 2-4 people

Ratio: 1:4

Included: Guide Fee, group equipment (ropes, ice screws etc.), mountaineering boots, crampons, helmet, harness, pair of ice axes

Not included: Mountain rescue insurance, lunches, evening meals, transport, lifts, accommodation

If you have already done some ice climbing and would like more flexibility and to do more advanced climbing – perhaps you have your own objective – then we also offer a private guiding service. Whether you want to learn or just maximise your time in the mountains, our guides will put together an agenda tailored to your specific requirements.

Founded in 2001 by Russell Brice, the Chamonix Experience team has expanded to include Martina, Elizabeth and Anne in the office and 20-25 fully qualified IFMGA mountain guides working for us on a regular basis. All mountain lovers, we have skied, climbed and hiked many of the routes around the area and spend our lunch hours and days off exploring more in the Mont Blanc range and the rest of the world!

You find our office at the Alpcenter in Argentiere. During the winter and summer seasons we are open seven days a week to assist you with any last minute bookings or changes. In between seasons we are more or less open Monday to Friday during normal office hours.
