  • Accommodation:

    Included as standard in all of our multi day packages, guests stay at the Ymir Palace. This turn of the Century Mining Hotel has recently been completely upgraded in a ski lodge style. The Ymir Palace features a full dining room, TV lounge, hot tub, rooms with private bathrooms and rooms with shared bathrooms. The showers are custom river rock and a highlight after a day of catskiing! We meet at the Ymir Palace for breakfast on all catskiing trips.

    Your multi day package accommodation starts the night prior to your first day of skiing. Dinner is included the following night if skiing the following day. Your package ends after the last day of skiing. It is possible to book additional nights and meals although priority is given to groups catskiing.

    Snowcat Skiing Terrain:

    Wildhorse peak offers steep trees, open glades, powder stashes, mellow meadows, crazy cliffs, endless mayhem, and sunlit ridges. Our runs vary from 300 feet vertical instant delights to 1,000 feet of gasping snowchoked and 2,200 feet of endless madness.

    Skiing Ability:

    You should be an advanced intermediate skier keen to ski at least 10,000 feet of untracked powder. A wide variety of slopes, aspects, elevations and terrain will please those seeking the ultimate run.

  • Guest-to-Guide Ratio: 6 to 1
  • Group Capacity: Maximum 12
  • Our average daily temperatures from –5 degrees Celsius to –1 degrees Celsius (in the 20s Fahrenheit).

    Wildhorse starts from the historic mining town of Ymir, BC. CANADA. We try to meet at 7:00 AM for breakfast at the Ymir Palace and depart for skiing at 8AM. Ymir is 30 minutes south of Nelson and 15 minutes north of Salmo in the West Kootenay's of British Columbia.

    Although it does not seem that it is official policy yet at the border to require passports, it is an asset to bring this form of identification with you.
