A lover’s guide to London bonfire nights
1st November 2010 > Leisure, Ooh.com StuffRemember Remember the 5th November…
Bonfire Night, a wonderful marker for the beginning of the British winter – the clocks go back and it’s time for us to nest down for the winter. Time too for those singletons out there to take advantage of the chill in the air and to find someone to snuggle up to for the Winter. And what better excuse for a date than Bonfire Night.
We were recently chatting with our friends at The Great Date Guide about the joys of bonfire nights and how romantic it can be to wrap up warm, step out on the arm of another, warm hands on spiced winter punch and hold hands while gazing starwards at the firework displays.
As the oracle on the best places to go dating in London we asked them to offer their cupids view on London Bonfire nights and the best ones to visit for a romantic evening for two.

Things to do this Halloween 2010
21st October 2010 > Leisure, Ooh.com StuffHalloween is coming and so, as our culture dictates, we will seek out fake blood, fangs and Dracula cloaks and drink green liquid from test tubes at house parties, watch classic horror movies on channel 5 and fend off oiks from our doorsteps with last year’s Quality Street and tricky questions about political allegiances and the point.
Here at Ooh.com we by no means reject these traditions but feel that the time has come to extend our web this Halloween by seeking out some alternative entertainments.
- Tales from the Brothers Grimm – Cuddle up with Grand Wizard of the Last Tuesday Society, Viktor Wynd and listen to him reading his favourite gruesome tales from the Brothers Grimm.
Tuesday 26th October, 11 Mare St, E1. Doors open 6pm, reading begins at 7pm.
