Hi John, I sold Geales Fish Restarant, Notting Hill Gate in December 1998. My grandfather, Alfred, opened it as a fish & chip shop on 5th September 1939. Ten years later my father, Peter, went into the business. He made substantial changes by altering it to a fully licensed restaurant. It was then my turn to join the family tradition, which I did in 1972. My wife, Carole came in three years later. Dad had retired by then and I increased the restaurant capacity by 50%. We were very well patronised and in the 80's were serving in excess of 300 customers a day.
Regards, Chris Geale
