The cafe’s stage set interior is designed by Andres Ros and inspired by the 2011 Spring Summer catwalk collections. Collaborations with Mawi, Linda Farrow (sunglass designer extraordinaire), Harper’s Bazaar and artist Dinos Chapman will certainly add a glamorous spark, but if Erdem’s flowers, Wang’s all-white or Prada’s block colours will make their mark on the venue remains to see. Chapman’s images of Claudia Schiffer promise to be a highlight, as does the Michelin-starred food.

Sophisticated palates will rejoice that Chef Pierre Gagnaire has designed the menu, complete with sandwiches and salads as well as Sketch’s famous viennoiseries, cakes and pastries. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea will be served and if you can’t get enough of Sketch after that, head straight to Conduit Street for dinner in The Lecture Room & Library.If the pop-up is anything as OTT as Sketch HQ, you won’t be disappointed.

On 21^st November at 2pm – 4pm at London’s Triyoga, Victoria Oldham is holding a free Grinberg Method workshop. The Grinberg method offers a structured way of learning through the body, with the aim of showing how to put your health and well-being first. If you suffer from stress, anxiety or just want to achieve your personal goals, this taster session might be something for you.

Victoria has over 13 years teaching experience and divides her time between Geneva and London, working with students and clients wanting to learn more about this healing method, which was created by alternative therapist Avi Grinberg in the the late 1980’s.

During the 2-hour workshop, participants will get a taste of what it’s like to be a Grinberg Method student, practising simple techniques and exercises that aim to increase body awareness, the ability to focus and boost energy levels. You’ll also get hands-on experience of what being a practitioner involves.

Throw in thousands of merry revellers welcoming in the New Year, and you’ve got a night you won’t forget.

The opening event of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2011 is the famed Torchlight Procession on Thursday 30th December. Here you can join tens of thousands of torch carriers as they create a river of fire from the historic Royal Mile to the Son et Lumiére and fireworks finale on Calton Hill.

Once you’ve warmed up to the atmosphere on Thursday evening, take a spin around the city to enjoy one of the many restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance of the procession. Ooh.com recommends Chez Jules for no-nonsense French cuisine and the famously grimy Tron pub to catch some of Edinburgh’s buzzing live music and comedy. Make sure you get some sleep though, Friday’s gonna be a long day.

Friday 31st features the main events of the festival, kicking off with the Hogmanay Concert in the Gardens set beneath Edinburgh Castle. Both Scottish Rock giants Biffy Clyro and the indie legends The Charlatans will be playing at the concert in the garden this year and the concert will build up to the world-renowned midnight fireworks spectacular, welcoming in the New Year.

Bonfire Night, a wonderful marker for the beginning of the British winter – the clocks go back and it’s time for us to nest down for the winter. One of London’s best parks – there’ll be the essential roasted chestnuts and toffee apples, food stalls and mulled wine a plenty (clearly essential).  The bonfire is always impressive, as are the fireworks and there’s no kids funfair – so you can expect a slightly more adult crowd.

When the fireworks are over stroll over the Albert Bridge to the The Phene, a beautiful little pub hidden away in Chelsea’s back streets, for drinks by the fire.

on Sunday 7th Nov:

Victoria Park (display 7.30pm, admission free)

The bonfire night for all the Hackney hipsters but don’t worry as it’ll be all dark and you can distract yourself with one of the London’s most impressive displays. There will of course be food and mulled wine but don’t fill up too much.

Make the most of the East End’s finest hospitality with drinks in the Napolean Bar at Bistrotheque or if you’re out to really impress, a table at the outstanding Viajante for food from the pioneering chef Nuno Mendes.

We’re a bunch of film buffs at Ooh, and we also enjoy a wee bit of Johnny Depp (or that might just be me). So naturally, we needed to recommend the Flicker Club’s screening of Edward Scissorhands, this Sunday. Taking place in Richmond, the cinema pop up will have tricks and treats lined up for you, so come dressed up as an Avon representative and enjoy.

Ski and snowboard devotees should pop over to the Freeze Festival at Battersea Power Station this weekend. With top bands playing, après ski events and fantastic stunts from top performers in the sport, you don’t have to be a Chamonix convert  to appreciate it. Top tip: get the Friday after work ticket for £20.

Another Saturday, another X Factor show. Yawn. Sign up to a singing taster session with The Courage to Sing this Saturday, and prove to Simon Cowell that all musical stars don’t have to be manufactured from talent shows. Or just learn how to sing in tune. That can come in handy too.

Our restaurant choice of the week is Tiny Robot; a cool, shabby-chic diner in W2 serving American-Italian sharing dishes, with meatballs being a real treat. The cocktails are killer too.

Our beloved derelict power station is transformed once again into a winter festival land for the Freeze Festival 2010 where you won’t be able to see the woods from the skis, what with all those beanies and jaegerbums descending on the site.

There will of course be snow, shopping and après ski – but what sets this event apart from any other winter festival, or ski show is the chance to watch the big names of freestyle snowboarding and skiing, competing in the LG Big Air World Cup on the 32m high 100m long real snow jump on the banks of the Thames.

As well as the freestyle competition which continues throughout the weekend, the festival boasts an impressive music line up, with live music performances in the main tent from Mark Ronson, Roni Size, New Young Pony Club, I Blame Coco, and Pendulum playing a DJ set to close the festival on Sunday night.

The festival seems to have come a long way from its rather underwhelming premiere in 2008. This year there is a much more impressive spread of après ski activites on hand between the big air and the music to knock yourself out on – with special discounts in the ‘trade village‘, the UK premiere of freeride flick ‘Deeper’ at the O’Neil cinema tent, a bit of extreme mountain biking, or, most obviously, the many sponsored Après ski bars. (Sponsors include your fifteen year old brother’s favourite Relentless energy drinks, Deperados, Ch4, LG and O’Neil.)

This Halloween, 5th Floor,  an achingly cool collective of London fixed gear riders,  have teamed up with Brother Cycles, makers of achingly cool fixed gear bikes, to organise a Halloween event to remember – and you’re invited.

Leaving at midnight on Saturday the 30th October from London, Trafalgar Square, and riding through the night to Brighton Pier, the group plan to arrive just in time for an early breakfast Sunday morning by the sea.

Landscape magazine and Knog will be providing prizes for best fancy dress. So get your masks on, carve out your pumpkins, light up your sparklers and meet them at midnight on Halloween… If you dare!
