Choose from a two and a half hour or a four hour - walk to art that takes you behind the scenes to Melbourne's remarkable street art community.

It is an introduction to this world, so you do not need previous knowledge or a degree in fine arts to join the walking tour. During a few hours you will be chatting, socializing and learning from creators and art educators, always guided by an art consultant who has a passion for walking, food and culture.

At the end of the walking tour, you will receive a "starter pack", which will help you continue on your journey of art discovery. It includes magazines, discounts for memberships and subscriptions at art-related venues, and postcards for upcoming exhibition openings.

After hours of strolling, the group will stop for fabulous wine (along with cheese, depending on the tour you choose), so everyone will have an opportunity to discuss their ideas with the guide and tour participants.

The four hour tour takes place every Wednesday and Saturday from 2 - 6pm

The two and a half hour tour takes place every Friday from 2 - 4.30pm

Walk to art was conceived in 2006, in New York, as Bernadette Alibrando pounded the pavements from Brooklyn to Chelsea, while working at pre-eminent gallery Silverstein Photography. Before leaving for New York, Alibrando was an art consultant with a large, Melbourne-based commercial gallery group.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts (majoring in Photography) from the Victorian College of the Arts, Alibrando has a keen eye for design, line and colour. For three years Alibrando held one of only six positions on the Advisory Committee of Art Beat – the young members' program at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), in Melbourne.

Having owned and operated a restaurant in Melbourne, Alibrando is also a connoisseur of fine food and wine, and good company. walk to art encompasses all her great loves: art, walking, food and wine!
